The Perfect Salmon

This is my go-to never fails, perfect salmon recipe. Regardless of any other recipes I try, I always come back to this. The salmon always comes out perfectly flakey on the inside and crisp on the outside.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb salmon, preferably wild and cut in 2 pieces

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt

Pepper

Instructions

Preheat oven to 500 degrees.

I personally don’t wash my fish; however, if you don’t feel comfortable not doing so, rinse the salmon under cold water. Be sure to dry completely with a kitchen towel. If the salmon is not completely dry, it will steam during cooking and won’t have that great crisp skin.

Place salmon skin-side down, on a baking sheet with parchment paper. I like to rub the olive oil onto the salmon making sure it is evenly distributed. Season well with salt and pepper and place in the oven for 15 minutes.

Done!
